Lead Advertising Operations Manager

Location: Framingham, MA


This is a hybrid role in Framingham, MA with 2-3 days per week in the office.

Our eCommerce team strives to showcase value proposition and experience to customers through digital vehicles, including SEO, paid search, display affiliates, paid social media and more. We utilize online merchandising and campaigns executed by both humans and automated tools to convert new and returning website visitors into customers. Our team also ensures that our mobile and desktop websites and apps are easy to use, delivering the digital experience that our customers expect. At the same time, our teams focus on building and executing a strong innovation pipeline for the future. You will play a pivotal role in future by developing the infrastructure to scale Retail Media Advertising Operations. We are developing a successful retail media network, growing at an impressive rate year over year, with room for innovation to drive scale. This person will be responsible for building and managing an experienced team of specialists who support the end-to-end execution of media business, including: ad platforms, activating & trafficking campaigns both on- and offsite, and billing.

The Advertising Operations Lead will partner closely with the Product & Operations director and cross-functional leaders to support critical media management functions for onsite and offsite advertising functions. This role will leverage a strong operations and technology background to define best practices for working across multiple platforms & systems, managing campaign setup, supporting QC/deployment reviews, confirming campaigns align with best practices, and ensuring internal & external stakeholders are engaged in operations as needed. You are naturally curious and stay current on the MadTech/AdTech ecosystem, digital marketing, and retail media landscape.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Define, codify, and implement best practices for all aspects of retail media campaign execution (including planning, inventory availability, campaign setup, ad tag trafficking, creative trafficking and approvals, reporting, optimization, QA, troubleshooting, etc.)
  • Attract, hire, develop, and coach talent to build a best-in-class operations team that oversees end-to-end execution of on- and offsite retail media campaigns
  • Manage cross team efforts by integrating information and processes across sales, technology, product, & operation teams, tracking overall media performance & advertising capability progress
  • Create process mapping and support the development of operational roadmaps & document considerations for potential solution integrations, platform setups, and technology deployments
  • Oversee onsite and offsite advertising operations performance metrics to identify potential optimization opportunities
  • Coordinate with finance team to develop process creation for retail media program billing & invoicing to ensure timely invoicing & payment receipt, and accurate internal reporting
  • Ensure campaigns deliver against performance expectations and serve as escalation and final decision point around all operational issues
  • Oversee responsibilities and performance of team.
  • Conduct full performance appraisals and developmental plans for direct reports.
  • Create an environment and culture of a high performing team that is engaged and committed to protect assets.
  • Actively develop team members/successors. Provide opportunity for personal leadership growth and effectively communicate company strategic visions from the top to the individual contributor.

What you bring to the table:

  • Strong knowledge of digital media channels, operations, and online advertising
  • Strong understanding of retail media: programmatic, managed service, on/offsite – and online advertising operations and technology
  • Strong leadership skills with foundation and relevant experience in digital media advertising operations & execution
  • Familiarity with display/search/social advertising, DSPs, and onsite/offsite advertising
  • Ability to manage deadlines & milestones across multiple simultaneous projects and vendors
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills as well as demonstrated experience in fact-based analysis, including the ability to persuasively present insights and recommendations
  • A strategic approach to execution, including an ability to identify process improvements
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to triage needs across multiple stakeholders and teams
  • Experience leading a cross-functional team in the digital and/or media space

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital media and/or retail media with a strong product or operations background
  • Strong knowledge of digital media channels, operations, and online advertising
  • Strong understanding of retail media: programmatic, managed service, on/offsite – and online advertising operations and technology
  • Strong leadership skills with foundation and relevant experience in digital media advertising operations & execution
  • Familiarity with display/search/social advertising, DSPs, and onsite/offsite advertising
  • Ability to manage deadlines & milestones across multiple simultaneous projects and vendors
